Is it really fishy?

Image
Hi guys, writing after a long time. What could be more pleasing than writing about my favorite food after this big gap? That too suggested by one of my favorite people. Does it sound fishy? No, it's fish. Like any other Bengali, I love to eat fish. If you give me nothing other than 'fishes' to eat, albeit three times a day, I will still cherish them. Ilish, made by my husband .            Rice and fish curry are the most common staple food for Bengalis. I first tasted fish in my rice ceremony (on this event, a baby, roughly around 6/7 months old first tastes food that an adult eats). There was a time when I was privileged to get a few pieces of fish on a single meal, now this is past tense for me. This is mainly because I stay away from home, specifically out of Bengal. I wrote earlier in one of my blogs, how I made fish pickle. This time, I am not going to tell you any specific story of mine, rather I will tell you how many types of fis...

From the RabindraSangeet to Metal, change made by Quarantine

Image
Hi everyone,    I am back again to consume 3-4 minutes of your precious time. Some of you (that means only my husband) wanted me to write about my 14-days quarantine experience. So here it is:   I was put in quarantine twice so far. The first one was in the middle of March when I went back home. It was the initial stage when the COVID situation started becoming worse in India. That time it was fun, simply because I was going home. The moment I stepped inside the house and asked my parents to maintain a safe distance from me for the next 14 days, my mother started crying, she was 200% sure that I was infected. It took me a few days to make my mother understand the concept of ‘quarantine’. She used to think that if someone is in quarantine means that the person ‘must’ be infected. Honestly, with the joy of being home after 7/8 months, I could not constrain myself in a single room all the time. But, whenever I came out of my so-called ‘quarantine-room’, I made sure to keep a...

Tea or Coffee, both or nothing? Which one is your cup?

Image
Hey dears, Whoever is reading this blog, I know you are either my family member or my friends, not a stranger. It’s 2:40 AM in the morning, I have been sipping my chamomile tea and listening to jazz on Spotify for a while, just trying to bring my sleep schedule back to normal after 14 days of quarantine. Now it’s been almost 10 days since my quarantine ended and I am still having a hard time coming back to the regular schedule.  Anyways, while sipping the cup, this idea came, why don't I write something about my love for tea and coffee.  And here I am.. People either love tea or coffee, though I know people who hate both. I love both of them, it just depends on my mood which one I would like to have. Let's start with teas. I love these green leaves. Darjeeling Tea. I tasted a large variety of tea, ranging from fine Darjeeling to masala chai, from nimbu chai to green tea. I cannot afford first flush yet, I have the second flush. But I like all of them. If it's a summ...

Tommy the dog

Tommy's tale  Uhu... it's not about my tail, it's my tale that I am going to tell you in a minute. Hi everyone,  this is me, Tommy,  a 5 months old little puppy of Indian origin. I live with my Maa, Baba, Didi, and Kalu vai in a small village,  in the east part of West Bengal. I know what you are thinking,  yes, you are right.  I don't stay with my biological mom and siblings,  though they live nearby, and I get to see them every day. I live with my Yashoda Ma, Nando baba. They feed me, play with me. They raise me up just like maa Yashoda did to Kanai beta. Though my foster parents are human, they love me a loooot. But, one thing you got wrong. My Kalu vai is not a human.  He is also just four-legged like me. Yesss... you are right.  He is a cat. When I first came to my house, I was not even a month old.  My Yashoda ma fed me milk, I licked her hand, and within a moment we fell in a bond. As I was very little then...
